Collier County Jane Doe was a woman found beaten to death in Florida in 1978.

Case[]

The victim's nude body was found buried in a shallow grave near the 21 mile marker in Alligator Alley. The body had been covered in lime. It is a common myth that lime speeds up decomposition, which the killer probably believed, but it in fact preserves the body. The victim's body was preserved so well that fingerprints could be obtained. It was determined she'd died from a blow to the head.

  • May have had chronic ear infections resulting in hearing loss.
