St. Louis Jane Doe was a young African-American girl who was found murdered inside of an abandoned house in St. Louis, Missouri.
Her headless body was found in 1983, a few days after her death. It is believed that she had been strangled before she was decapitated. The victim was also bound with nylon cord and was also raped. She wore only a yellow sweater that was lost in the mail.
The girl was tall for the estimated age range of eight to eleven. Recent testing on her bones also indicated that she was native to the southern United States.
She lacked any distinct birthmarks on her body, but had painted her fingernails a pink to orange color. She also had spina bifida occulta to her sacrum, yet it is believed she showed no outward symptoms.
Her head has never been found.
